  Henry Pitney Van Dusen was an episcopal layman and Presbyterian minister. He served on the World Council of Churches, chairing some committees. He wrote and edited many books, including a biography on Dag Hammerskjold, United Nations Secretary General. He was a lifetime trustee of Princeton University.
